THE CRISES BEFORE PROSPERITY WEEK 4 – THE CRISIS OF REJECTION 1 SAMUEL 16:1–13 (ESV) POINT 1: PEOPLE’S REJECTION ISN’T GOD’S DISQUALIFICATION “There remains yet the youngest… but he is tending the sheep.”— 1 Samuel 16:11 “Man looks at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart.” —1 Samuel 16:7 David tended sheep—he wasn’t training to fight giants, but the pasture made him ready when Goliath appeared. (1 Samuel 17:34–37) “Whoever can be trusted with very little can also be trusted with much.” —Luke 16:10 POINT 2: SOMETIMES REJECTION IS HOW GOD REDIRECTS YOU “Man looks on the outward appearance, but the Lord looks on the heart.”— 1 Samuel 16:7 “You intended to harm me, but God intended it for good to accomplish what is now being done.” Genesis 50:20 POINT 3: DON’T LET THEIR “NO” BECOME YOUR “NEVER” “Then the Lord said, ‘Rise and anoint him; this is the one.’”— 1 Samuel 16:12 POINT 4: WALK INTO THE ROOM LIKE GOD SENT YOU THERE, BECAUSE HE DID “So Jesse sent for him, and he had him brought in... Then the Lord said, ‘Rise and anoint him; this is the one.’”— 1 Samuel 16:12 Heavenly Father, Thank You for never overlooking me. Even when I was passed over by people, You never stopped choosing me. Today, I release the pain of rejection. I forgive the people who forgot me. I surrender the places I’ve avoided. And I return to the room— Not to prove anything—But to step into my purpose. I believe I am seen. I believe I am chosen. I believe I am anointed for what’s next. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
